When Rin came to her, Turuun did not expect her life to change so completely. As a priestess, she had taught the young girl the way of the Muna, and later, when the girl and her Chimera became an Exalt, she guided the pair, helping them understand the nature of this new bond and soften the violence of that transition. After her protégé left, instead of returning to live in Amorgand, she chose to care for the new Exalts awakening month after month, as compatible Chimera were brought back from the edge of the Known World. She herself found a life companion in Benih, a mischievous Tumult entity that had taken the form of a green hill jay. But when the explicit request came to bring fruits and flowers from the Spindle to the Expeditionary Corps, Turuun volunteered for the journey — both to see her student again and to discover new horizons.
