Isaree & Pebble

Isaree is above all a woman of conviction. She fights for her ideas, her ideal of social justice, and for a science dedicated to progress. The daughter of a geologist with a dreamy temperament — from whom she inherited her love of stones — she nevertheless opposed her mother from adolescence onward. Her mother, a shipowner with a marble-cold pragmatism, represented everything she rejected. When the miners of Enosha launched a general strike, Isaree sided with the protesters, negotiating on their behalf for greater safety and better working conditions. As a leading figure in the movement, she encouraged revolt and civil disobedience, even standing up to private militias sent to suppress the uprising. Disowned by her mother, she had no choice but to leave Hadera. Fortunately, her father secured her a position at the Foundry as a goldsmith specializing in Aerolith. But wanting to put even more distance between herself and her mother, Isaree went further still, applying to join the Fulcrum, the Axiom’s branch dedicated to the Rediscovery Endeavor.
