They always say the grass is greener on the other side...
Story
393 AC - There's a presence lurking here. I can smell it, like a faint scent. Something has taken up residence in this archipelago, a predator that has managed to hide from me, despite my Irises. But it's here, all right; I can tell from the way the wind blows through the branches. There's a scent of musk, eyes hidden behind the shrubs, a presence in the absence, drawn in relief. As for the Woollybacks, they seem completely oblivious to the danger, just like their shepherd. No, they can't stay here. And even if I'm imagining things, it's better to act than do nothing. But I'm no shepherd. I haven't the faintest idea of how to call them or how to make them follow me.
But maybe I can use their natural ability to be easily distracted. I hatch a Moth, then send it flying over the head of their supposed leader. The moth starts its nuptial dance, while the cloud-sheep watches it. I summon another insect so that the first one will head in the new one's direction. I smile as I see the Woollyback give in to its intrinsic carefree attitude and follow the colorful fluttering of the Moth. With a bit of luck… As it starts to trot behind the moth, the rest of the flock begin to follow, much to Kauri's surprise. He glances at me, then suddenly looks away in alarm. So now he feels it too, it seems.
