Medusa

They made her a monster simply for defending herself.
Story
393 AC - I mutter with annoyance when I see the Bravos Eidolons appearing here and there around the Leviathan. They take out their weapons, ready to jump into the fray, as the monster's massive jaws tear through the rock below. What do they hope to achieve? What the hell are these Alterers even thinking? Aren't they supposed to protect us? Right now, they're mostly putting us in danger! The veins of Aerolith glitter in the stone walls. If there's to be a battle, it'll blow up the whole island – and us with it. Don't they realize that? I hastily pull out my Construct and put the khyalo symbols together as quickly as I can. The Kelon battery I'm carrying drains down a block as Medusa responds to my call and steps in at the last second.
The Gorgon blocks their path, the snakes on her head hissing in fury and dripping with venom. The Eidolons turn towards her in anger. But I've got no time to lose, and even less to negotiate. We need to get out of here right now, even if we lose some gear and even if Lucan turns the whole site upside down. It's not worth risking our lives for a few tons of ore, or for the egos of a handful of zealots trying too hard to do the right thing… Medusa opens her eyes and sweeps her gaze over the scene. All around her, the Eidolons freeze in place wherever her glance passes, transformed into amphibolite statues. There's no time to lose. We need to leave now.
Inspiration
In Greek mythology, Medusa is one of the three Gorgons, alongside her sisters Euryale and Stheno. Originally a beautiful young woman, she was coveted by Poseidon, who attacked her and raped her in a temple dedicated to Athena. The goddess cursed the victim instead of supporting her, burdening her with a monstrous appearance with snakes for hair and a petrifying gaze…
