By joining the Tagmata—the armed corps of the Asgarthan navy—Zhen followed in her father’s footsteps. Although Bai Shan-shu was a soldier decorated with the Purple Star, he remained humble in all circumstances. At just thirty years old, he had saved around forty soldiers with the help of his Chimera, granting them wings of paper as the Mesektet was on the verge of crashing beyond the borders of Asgartha. To Zhen, her father was a hero. Until she discovered the truth. On his deathbed, he confessed his crimes to her. For he was the one who had sabotaged the Ordis’ flagship, leading to the deaths of hundreds of soldiers, sailors, officers… and her mother, Madelyn. Yet despite all her pleas to uncover the whole story, Shan-shu revealed nothing more, taking the reasons for his betrayal to the grave. To keep Zephyr from wasting away, Zhen bonded with him through the Musubi. Now, she is determined to cleanse the dishonor that she seems to be the only one to know.
