The ascent is coming to an end. After several months of forging a path through the snow, the ice, and the tumultuous winds of the Cais Adarra, your factions have finally managed to reach the heart of the mountain.

Here stands the Nilam, a colossal world-tree from which a bluish color emanates. It is entirely encased in ice, its trunk petrified and cracked, its branches devoid of leaves—the Nilam is dead. In the hollow of its crystal bark, the dragon Kuraokami, source of the eternal winter that has befallen the region, is held prisoner.

A little over a month ago, we invited you to write the next chapter of Altered's story by participating in the Tumult Championship, these competitive events that took place from April 5th to May 11th, 2025. Having arrived at Kuraokami's prison, it was up to you to choose which of the 6 factions would be rewarded for their efforts to free the ice dragon.

Many of you participated and defended your colors. As a reminder: each Tumult Champion, the winner of an event, earned 1 point for their faction. The votes are now closed, and Kuraokami has chosen the faction it will join.

A Look Back at the Tumult Championship

You surely anticipated it with the feedback from the latest Whispers from the Maze Season Patch: congratulations to Ordis and Yzmir, the two major factions that stood out during this Tumult Championship.

We also want to congratulate the players who gave other factions a chance by triumphing with Heroes from other factions. Here at Equinox, Muna came out on top with Rin & Orchid in a final against Sigismar & Wingspan.

The graph above represents the win rates of each faction, with Ordis leading at 29.2%, followed by Yzmir at 27.2%. Then come Bravos at 14.0%, Muna at 12.9%, Lyra at 10.7%, and Axiom at 6.1%.

Kuraokami Unbound

Your choice fell on Ordis to free Kuraokami. Among all the factions, it is the one that distinguished itself the most, and it is therefore the one that the ice dragon chooses to join to continue the adventure. Ordis thus wins the Common and Rare versions of Kuraokami. Yzmir's efforts also earned the dragon's recognition, and the Rare-F version of Kuraokami is now Yzmir.

This card will be unlocked in each of its versions—Common, Rare, and Rare-F—on every Altered account, whether already existing or created in the future. Each of these versions has a different behavior from other cards: they are available in unquantified amounts on your account. As such, you can add a playset to your deck, but they cannot be sold or traded. You can of course print them as many times as you wish with the Print-on-demand system.

Your choice during the Tumult Championships impacted the game, but also the story of Altered. Discover below the end of the Trial by Frost storyline, the triumph of Ordis and Yzmir, and what the future holds for Kuraokami and the Cais Adarra.
