Today we’re giving you a glimpse of Seeds of Unity, the next Altered set available for pre-order on Gamefound now!

A few weeks ago, we announced our change in distribution model. Starting with Seeds of Unity, Altered will be available for both players and retailers on Gamefound, the largest crowdfunding platform for board games.

With our move to a Gamefound model, we wanted to think even bigger. Seeds of Unity delivers a fresh gameplay experience and new ways to collect, with products packed with innovative features. But for you, the players of Altered, what does this change actually mean?

• The game's release rhythm remains the same: three sets per year with four-month seasons.
• The Gamefound page is live and accessible starting today! Make sure to follow it to stay updated on all the new reveals we have planned for the coming days.
• The pre-order campaign starts on October 28, 2025, and runs until November 7, 2025. This is your window to place your order by completing your pledge!
• If you happen to miss the pre-order campaign, your local game store may still be able to order copies for you, so definitely ask them!
• You will receive your products around the set's release, in early February 2026. This is a target period rather than a precise date, during which you can meet up for in-store pre-releases, just like you always have! More to come about the set’s release in January.

After a tumultuous journey through the clouds, the Asgarthans reach their destination. Asty is a resplendent floating city and home to the Reka people, as well as the Naos, an immense world tree whose canopy overlooks the city's tallest buildings. As the two peoples become acquainted, a new alliance is born.

Seeds of Unity tells the story of the meeting between the Asgarthans and the Reka: a vibrant celebration full of color and optimism where the focus is on exchange, the discovery of the other people and their city, and the laying of solid foundations. But, like any civilization, the Reka have their complexities.

The Naos, a majestic World Tree grows at the heart of the city and supplies it with resources and energy. The Reka owe their advanced technology and prosperity to the exploitation of this World Tree and the governance of the Hexarchs, a six-member oligarchy. This meeting is a story of celebrations, exchanges, and hope, but also one of negotiations—a moment when doubts, tensions, and difficult choices begin to emerge.

For Seeds of Unity, three new Heroes from the Axiom, Muna, and Ordis factions are being sent as emissaries to lead the discussions. Alongside them, three Heroes from Skybound Odyssey will be making their return.

Competent healers who have entered the service of the Expeditionary Corps, Della and Bolt discover Reka technology that inspires innovation across many areas of Asgarthan medicine.

No more risk of your expeditions running out of steam! Use Della & Bolt’s activated ability to ready an exhausted Permanent or a card in Reserve, and never fear running out of resources again!

Turuun spent many years of her life alongside the Exalts, studying the bond that ties these prodigious duos before unexpectedly bonding with Benih herself. As the bearer of seeds from the Asgarthan World Tree, Turuun holds great hope for the exchange between the Reka and Asgarthan civilizations.

Under the canopy of the Naos, the Asgarthans and Reka celebrate their meeting, the pooling of their resources, and the cultural exchanges to come between their two civilizations. The mechanics of Seeds of Unity reflect this moment of sharing and excitement.

A Manaseed is a Permanent Landmark token. It is a resource that can provide you with an extra mana at any time. When you create a Manaseed token, it’s like storing one mana, which can then be used on a subsequent day by sacrificing it!

Thanks to its Permanent and Landmark card types, the Manaseed token will also synergize with Permanent-focused strategies: it's the ideal Permanent to sacrifice or exhaust to activate powerful effects!

The meeting of the Asgarthans with the Reka is the perfect opportunity for commerce! A Gift is a resource offered to another player during your turn: if one of your actions allows your opponent or any other player to draw a card, replenish, or create a token, it is considered a Gift. Some of your cards will require you to offer resources to your opponents, which will allow you to obtain high stats or powerful effects in exchange at a reduced cost. Reveal your negotiating talents!

The theme of the Reka and Asgarthan meeting is at the heart of Seeds of Unity. In Contact illustrates these moments of interaction: one of your expeditions is In Contact when another expedition is present in the same region. Some cards will require you to be In Contact to gain powerful bonuses, and others will allow you to play with advancements in the regions to more easily find yourself In Contact with your opponent!

The Starter Decks are back! There’s no better way to discover the new set than with our two Starter Decks, which give you a glimpse of the Muna faction with Turuun & Benih and the Ordis faction with Matz & Hive.

Turuun & Benih is a deck oriented around the Gift mechanic. Many Muna cards encourage you to share your resources, and with Turuun & Benih, your generosity is rewarded! This deck takes advantage of the set’s Manaseed mechanic, allowing you to create tokens for both your opponent and yourself thanks to your Hero. Once you have accumulated enough resources, take the advantage on the board!

Matz & Hive is a deck built around a Landmark strategy, featuring the first Hero to offer three Landmark slots! Accumulate Landmarks to benefit from Matz’s ability, which allows you to play a Landmark directly from your hand for {2} mana less once you exceed the three-slot limit. Here, too, Manaseed tokens are an ideal resource, as they are a Landmark token type—the perfect way to construct the most solid plan!

You first discovered them in Skybound Odyssey, and they are returning for Seeds of Unity! The Seeds of Unity displays now contain 24 boosters, meaning you will find one Special Booster every 144 boosters. Their composition has also slightly changed. Here is what you can find if you are lucky enough to open a Special Booster:

What exactly is an Exalted card? Let’s learn more right now!

The introduction of Exalted cards is one of our biggest innovations this year, aimed at expanding the game's horizon. Up until now—and excluding Unique cards which are generated, not individually designed—we only had two tiers of rarity and complexity (Common and Rare). This sometimes forced us to discard fun but overly specific designs for the sake of set coherence. Exalted cards, which exist only at this rarity level without Common, Rare, or Unique versions, allow us to invest in a new power space that bridges the gap between Rare and Unique cards.

With Exalted cards, we want to reintroduce that little thrill of excitement when opening a booster, knowing you've just found a card unlike any other. They are immediately recognizable: their rarity gem is bronze, and their frame is unique, sitting halfway between Rare and Unique cards, designed to highlight the illustration and give them that exclusive look. They are the best cards in the set outside of Uniques, and their design prioritizes synergy and fun to invite players to build all kinds of strategies to make them shine.

To maintain game balance, Exalted cards are limited to 3 copies per deck: they are not designed to function alone, but rather to be the synergistic cornerstones of your deck. Finally, they are also a real asset for collectors. With only 6 Exalted cards in Seeds of Unity and a rarity of one card every 20 boosters, they are even rarer than Unique cards. All Exalted cards will feature an alternate illustration and several exclusive collectible treatments.

Asty, the City of the Reka, is a splendid and luminous city where technology serves cultural blossoming, and where the inhabitants display their finest clothes and jewelry adorned with gold. We wanted to mark the occasion with the creation of numerous alternate illustrations and new collectible card treatments.

A large majority of these new collectible cards can be found in the standard set, but if you want to get the largest number of these cards and lay your hands on the most exclusive treatments, then the Collector Boosters are made for you!

The Collector Booster is an all-foil booster pack containing 15 cards. We are very proud of the work done on the foil cards, and this feature is highly appreciated by the community. To ensure a majority of players can enjoy them, we’ve decided to include them in the Collector Boosters and not keep them exclusively for Print-on-Demand.

The Collector Booster also guarantees you open exceptional cards. Among all these cards, 1 Unique card is always guaranteed, with the possibility of finding much more! A Collector Booster contains: 1–3 Heroes, 6 Commons, 3 Rares, 1–3 Uniques, 0–2 Exalted cards, and the chance to open one of the set's new exclusive treatments: Full-Art Heroes, Alt-Art Emissary Heroes and Exalted, Worlds 2025 Heroes, and even the ultra-rare Serialized Full-Alt-Art Heroes!

The classic display is not being overlooked, either! Starting with Seeds of Unity, the displays are changing and will contain 24 boosters instead of 36. This allows us to continue offering a product that can be drafted, while also significantly decreasing the price of a display. For reference, the MSRP price for the Kickstarter display was 144 € at the launch of Beyond the Gates. For Seeds of Unity, displays are being offered at 107 € on our Gamefound page.

It was important to us to offer a more accessible entry point, and to celebrate this new model, we are now including Box Toppers with every display. A Box Topper is an additional 1-card booster included inside each display. For Seeds of Unity, the Box Toppers contain a selection of 24 of the most played cards from the Beyond the Gates and Trial by Frost sets in a superb Full-Art treatment. These cards can only be found in the Seeds of Unity display Box Toppers.
