As more countries receive their Seeds of Unity deliveries, we are taking the opportunity to look back at our first year of live operations. Our goal has always been to make Altered as accessible and fluid as possible, ensuring the bridge between your digital collection and your physical deck is seamless.
After initial limited-capacity testing and the global rollout last fall, we are announcing a significant evolution of our Print on Demand (POD) system to further streamline your experience.
Guaranteed Printing Slots
We have heard your feedback regarding the pace of POD during the winter months. It can be frustrating to commit to an order and wait indefinitely for a community threshold to be met. To provide more transparency and reliability, we are implementing a new scheduling system starting this month.
A POD printing slot can now be triggered in two different ways:
- Volume: A total of 2,000 packs are ordered (the current system).
OR
- We manually set a date for the next printing (Guaranteed to happen at least twice per season)
Our goal is to guarantee at least two POD printing slots every season, regardless of order volume. These slots will typically occur around the end of months 1 and 3 of a set’s 4-month life cycle, ensuring as many of you as possible have received your new cards following a launch. While we may manually adjust dates to optimize the cycle if three or more slots are triggered in a single season, we guarantee that at least two printing waves will take place every season moving forward.
Next printing Slot
To accompany the launch of Seeds of Unity, our next printing slot is scheduled with our partner for early April. This window is designed to give you enough time to receive your new cards, trade on the marketplace, and finalize your decklists.
Place your orders by the end of the day on March 31 (11:59 PM CET) to be included in this wave!

Printing Foil Cards
As previously stated, Seeds of Unity marks a turning point for our ecosystem as we officially retire the Foiler system. From now on, you can print in Foil all cards in your collection, without having to unlock them with Foilers. To simplify the journey for every player, you will no longer find Foilers of any rarity in future products.
To keep our interface clean, Foiler cards will be hidden in card lists by default, though they remain accessible via direct URLs. Please note that if you scan an older Foiler card moving forward, you will be unable to add it to your digital collection; an information message will appear on your scan result to guide you.
To give everyone time to adjust to these changes and to thank you for your patience and feedback, there will be no price difference between Foil and Normal POD packs throughout 2026. This means you can print any card in your collection in foil at no extra cost, regardless of rarity, including the newly released Exalted rarity! We hope this change lets you play with your favorite versions of your favorite cards without financial barriers.
Note: These updates will be live on altered.gg on Thursday, March 19.
Quality of Life Updates
Alongside these systemic changes, we have introduced a small quality-of-life update to the POD interface. When you add cards to a POD pack, a filter will now be active by default to show recently acquired cards from the marketplace that have not yet been printed. This should help you quickly identify the newest additions to your collection that are ready for the tabletop.

We are excited to see these changes simplify your experience and bring more foil cards to your local game stores. Whether you are building your dream deck alone or coordinating with your community through the POD Group Manager to reduce shipping costs, we hope these updates make your experience a smoother one.
