Gretel & Rust
Awakened Champions
The old legends say that the Fates, the Norns, or the fairies of children's tales lean over a newborn's cradle to assign their destiny. Perhaps hers was decided the same way at birth. Her overly strong taste for sugar and sweets, the appearance of Hansel's Eidolon during her Imhallat, her natural resourcefulness... In the end, none of it had been random. Yet despite this awakening, she remains, above all, Sunniva. Thanks to Rust, her identity was not crushed. It is as if a part of her, long dormant, awakened upon contact with the Sap and the Naos fruits' juice. Gretel's memories have mingled with her own, and now they are one. The blind witch, the gingerbread house with sugar windows, the oven door slamming shut, the white swans carrying her and her brother home... All of it is part of her now. And in a way, that's for the best - because the danger aimed at them now demands that one surpass oneself, or perish in the attempt.
