393 AC - It's so incredible that a whole ecosystem has evolved here, virtually without sunlight. Yes, at this depth, the sun's rays still filter down through the canopy and the enormous networks of roots, but the light is soft and diffused at best. Above my head, an arch of plants covers bluish blocks with gold veins. It's strange that they managed to get this far. I suppose it's possible they grew here directly. Well, maybe I'll need to do a bit of climbing so I can take a closer look. Below me, where no light is shining, the stones look almost black, whereas they're closer to a midnight blue actually. But the problem is that I need to cross a bed of pink mold, and that stuff made me sneeze for an entire afternoon the last time I tried to walk over some.

Anyway, when it's time to go, it's time to go. I take the silk shawl hanging on my belt and wrap it around my face to filter out the pollen that my footsteps are going to kick up. And deep within this network of consciousness, there's a presence that's opening its eyes.
