A new season of organized play is beginning! Starting May 30, Season 3 of Altered arrives in stores with the pre-releases for Whispers from the Maze. Along with this new set, you can also discover all-new rewards that you can earn by playing at your local game store.

Expeditions are Altered events organized in local game stores, and players of all skill levels can participate. Every week, many game stores host events where you can play Altered and meet other players.

Each Altered event you participate in allows you to earn various rewards: promo boosters, levels on your Adventure Pass, and for competitive events, playmats, exclusive cards, and much more!

There are many different ways to play Altered: Standard Constructed, the most common game mode, as well as Draft or Multiplayer. Altered Expeditions are an opportunity to discover the game with the community while unlocking the season's rewards!

By participating in a Season 3 Altered event, you can get a Whispers from the Maze promo booster. This 3-card booster contains exclusive cards and might even have a unique card! Your store chooses how they distribute these boosters: based on player results, randomly, or as a community reward.

The Season 3 Whispers from the Maze promo boosters take you through the labyrinth with a new cycle of alternate art cards. The six characters from the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur jump into the future! Find them in the middle of a fantastic Altered Convention filled with references to the game.

And of course, unique cards are back as well! Find new unique cards among the over 1 million cards generated for Whispers from the Maze, as well as rare and unique foils in the Whispers from the Maze promo boosters.

Each event you participate in at your local store allows you to unlock a level on your Adventure Pass. To do this, you need to have activated it and chosen the faction with which you want to progress for this season.

We've slightly reworked the Adventure Pass for Season 3. First, we've removed the badges while we properly develop their implementation on the website and player profiles. And for the first time, you can officially unlock up to 3 copies of the exclusive promo cards for your faction. This allows you to unlock a complete playset (the maximum of 3 copies of the same card that you can play in a deck).

For this Season 3, the Adventure Pass promo cards to unlock are the Landmark-type Constructions from Whispers from the Maze. These iconic permanents illustrate how each faction establishes a lasting presence around the City of Scholars to build the first Asgarthi outpost.

To progress on your Adventure Pass, register to official Altered events in your local game store, and remember to pre-register to events through the Altered website or application so your store can link your account to their own registrations and award you your level.

Each event rewards you with 1 additional level, with a maximum of 15 levels, at which point you’ll have completed your Adventure Pass. There is currently no possibility to switch factions during the Season and you cannot start over in another faction when you've completed your Adventure Pass so choose carefully!

Levels are not automatically added after the event, your store first has to validate your registration to make sure you did attend the event, and then close the event. It might sometimes take a few days, especially during weekends so do not hesitate to reach out to your store if you think you’re missing a level!

Season 3 starts on May 30 with the pre-releases for Whispers from the Maze. Any Altered event you attend after May 30 will count toward your progression on the Season 3 Adventure Pass so remember to activate it on May 30 if you plan on attending pre-releases!

As such, Season 2 will end on May 29 at midnight where it will no longer be possible to create Season 2 events. Stores will have the following week to close and validate player registration for these last events, and on June 6, you will unlock the rewards you earned through your Adventure Pass for Season 2.
