How did your journey with Equinox begin?
I’ve been a lover of TCGs since 1998, and have played nonstop for over 25 years. After working with a huge TCG retailer for 10 years, I wanted to move over to the designing and publishing side of the industry. I was given the opportunity to join the Equinox team after discovering Altered, and knew that Altered was something special, both from gameplay and how they wanted to change the landscape of the TCG world.
What does your job entail? Can you explain what you do?
My (new) title is Sales and Marketing Director, Americas. I work with our distribution, retail, and marketing channels in both North and South America. Sometimes this can be as big as creating our presence at Gen Con or as focused as helping a retail store find ways to engage their community. I’m also involved with making decisions about the future of Altered, like identifying dates for products, scheduling conventions and tournaments, and being a voice for both of the Americas. I’m the sole member of the team outside of France, so I do my best to represent the interests of everyone to the West of Europe!
What has been your greatest pride since joining the team?
Equinox is a small company when it comes to TCGs, and this comes with its own challenges. One of the benefits of being in a small company is that we often get feedback from as many different portions of the company as we can for ways to make Altered even better in the future. Over the last year, I’ve seen my ideas, suggestions and contributions all over how players interact with Altered. Seeing these come to fruition is always so rewarding, especially when it’s something that people respond overwhelmingly to. No ideas we execute on are developed just from one person. The magic of collaborating with other people who are just as passionate about the game as you are means small nuggets of ideas can turn into something amazing- and often does!
Without spoiling anything, could you describe what’s next for you in the Altered adventure?
Myself and others on the team have been planning what the future of Altered Organized Play looks like for some time now, and you’re going to see the beginnings of that with Tumult Championships coming very soon! I won’t spoil anything, but if you want to make your mark on the future of Altered, this would be a great place to start.
