The first World Championship Qualifiers have already started and crowned the first World finalist, but don’t worry, there are many more on their ways. As a reminder, the official competitive circuit for the World Championship consists of several stages:

• World Championship Qualifiers: From June to September 2025, these events, organized by our partners in many countries around the world as well as on Board Game Arena, will allow 24 players to qualify for the Worlds.
• Last Chance Qualifier: A final qualification phase organized in France just before the Worlds will offer the most determined players the last 8 spots in the Finals.
• World Championship Finals: Come and experience the most captivating Altered event of the year at the Finals, a festive and community event that will crown the Altered World Champion.

A World Championship Qualifier (or WCQ) is a tournament that allows you to qualify for the World Championship Finals. These events are organized all over the world in many countries—there's surely one you can participate in!

You're not limited to just one attempt! If you wish, you can participate in as many events as you'd like until you secure your qualification.

For the month of August, you can already register for the following WCQs:

Welcome to the first WCQ outside of Europe, held on August 9 and 10 in Dallas, TX, United-States. Hosted by Common Ground Games during QuakeCon at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, this event can welcome up to 256 players, and will qualify 1 person for the World Championship Finals.

If there are no World Championship Qualifier near you, then the Online Qualifier are your way to still get to win a place for the World Finals. Hosted by the A.W.O.L on Board Game Arena, this event will welcome up to 2048 players in 4 different tournament groups of 512 players. It will qualify 1 player for the World Championship Finals.

• Schedule: 3:00 PM (UTC+2) to 9:30 PM (UTC+2)
• Location: Board Game Arena
• Ticket Price: free
• Player Capacity: 2048 players in tournament groups of 512 players
• Qualified Players: 1

Canada gets its own WCQ, on August 30 and 31 in Montréal, Québec. Hosted by Imaginaire, this event will welcome 256 players and will qualify 2 players for the World Championship Finals.
