The storm was still rumbling when Kuraokami took flight, emerging from the shattered trunk of the Nilam. The Tumult hurricane was raging then. But when he rose high into the sky, his roar alone was enough to scatter the clouds gathered over the Storhvit. Since that moment, the gray skies have given way to a permanent blue—both a blessing and a curse. It was necessary—if only to honor our alliance with the Oneiroi—to end his imprisonment. A victory, without question. But his absence had troubling consequences for the Storhvit. Temperatures rose, and the snow, glaciers, and ice caps began to melt at an alarming rate. While this came as a relief to the Expeditionary Corps, we had to act swiftly to safeguard the Winter Folk and take drastic measures to prevent this unique ecosystem from deteriorating any further. It became clear: the climate of the Storhvit had been entirely artificial all along.

Governance

Replacing Kuraokami—that was an undeniable priority. There were many potential candidates among the Oneiroi who could offer suitable patronage, both for the Winter Folk and the Belisenki: the Snow Queen, Baron Kelvin, Dong Da Shen… Others were ruled out, like the Snow Maiden or the Yeti, who needed the cold to exist but couldn’t generate it themselves. But all these Oneiroi—much like Santa Claus—had a view of the role that was far too human-centered. It was Jack Frost, with his immanent nature, who best embodied the kind of winter necessary for the survival of this biome. Of course, many voices rose in protest because of his constant mischief. But this wasn't a question of human governance or administration. It was about the presence of an entity capable of sustaining the cold.

Caer Nilam

Naturally, the Asterion was quick to claim the Storhvit as an autonomous territory of Asgartha—or should I say, Caer Nilam. There is already talk of appointing a Governor to turn this region into a new Province. They will bear the heavy responsibility of overseeing the contingents that must remain here to stabilize, reinforce, and ensure the longevity of this Oasis—especially by maintaining the permanent embodiment of Jack Frost in the area. But it won’t be an easy task, especially with political pressure and public opinion expected to peak in the coming months and years.

After much deliberation—and despite Muna envoys urging that the region be turned into a natural reserve like the Katkera—I have decided to grant temporary governance of the Storhvit to the Ordis, supported by the Yzmir. The Yzmir, as they are the ones providing the precious cocoons that protect us from the hostility of the Belisenki. But in the harsh climate of Caer Nilam, oversight from the Ordis will be crucial: strict regulations must be enforced for the enclave to remain viable over time. I hope the other Factions will accept my ruling without resistance.

Regardless of these highly political concerns, I’m greatly relieved to say that the skies have cleared once more for the continuation of our efforts—especially as our scouts, stationed aboard the Ouroboros, appear to have identified a promising site...
