      Side Event Info

The World Finals will be held along with the traditional side events—a wide variety of activities, so players can spend the weekend enjoying the aspects of Altered they love most. A short description of what to expect is provided below. All details can be found on the Ticketing website.

      SIDE EVENTS PLANNING AND REWARDS

      • We know how much team tournaments are fun and enjoyable and we absolutely wanted to innovate with this thrilling Sealed 3v3 format. Come with two friends, crack up 21 boosters and build 3 decks (made of up to 3 factions each). You’ll get one hour to decide what to build and who plays what!

        SCHEDULE

        • Start: 8:30am
        • Final shall end around 7pm

        RULES

At your arrival, Check you Melee APP and wait for a table to be designated for your team. You’ll first be assigned 21x “Skybound Odyssey” Boosters and a list to fill with the cards found in your boosters. You’ll have to sign this list and then pack back your boosters. List and boosters will be given to another team and you’ll receive yourself the same. Check the cards you have received, check that the list you have received is correct (or call a judge) and then sign the list. Deckbuilding phase will start once you have signed and agreed on the cards received.

        • You must build 3 decks, one for each player, strictly using the cards provided in the 21 boosters.
        • Each deck must include a minimum of 29 cards + 1 hero.
        • You may play up to 3 factions per deck, with no limit on card copies or rarities.
        • At the beginning of each round, you must secretly assign players A, B, and C within your team. You will reveal these choices simultaneously with the opposing team to determine matchups (A vs A, B vs B, etc.). You’ll be given the tool to do so at the beginning of the event.. Player A always sits to the left of Player B, and Player C sits to the right.
        • 8 Rounds (BO1) + Top 8 Single Elimination (BO3)
        • All 3 matches must be played and completed (even if a team has already secured a 2-0 win). Each match counts for potential tiebreakers for Top 8 qualification.
        • Teammates are allowed to communicate with each other throughout the entire match, whether they have finished their own match or not. (You may effectively play with “three brains” on a single game.) However, only the player currently playing the match is allowed to physically take actions.
        • You may change your decklists between matches, as long as you only use the cards from the 21 boosters you were given.

        REWARDS

      • Same format as the Sealed 3v3 but with a twist. This time, instead of playing three 1v1, you’ll play a true multiplayer 2v2 with the official ruleset for this format.

About POD and delivery for those attending Worlds

The next POD slot is planned to close on Thursday October 9th at 9 AM and the shipping will start on October 14th with 2 to 5 days delivery time (probably 2 for EU and some more for the rest of the world).

We understand that this can be a critical issue for all players attending and a global solution is planned to cover it. We will let you know exactly how this will be handled in another update.

Still, do not forget the deadline to pass your POD orders is October 9th, 9 AM (UTC+2) (there is unfortunately nothing we will be able to do for you if you do not order in time).
